Drawing by Soma Debnath
Country: United Kingdom
The Story behind my drawing:This is a traditional Madhubani painting which is a form of Indian folk art done mainly in the state of Bihar.
This painting is deeply personal to me. I have a fond childhood memory of my mother and I reading together(sometimes to each other) during summer vacations. She was a busy lady and she hardly used to get time to sit with me and read books to me or play with me. We looked forward to our month long holidays(twice a year) so that we can spend some quality time with each other, reading, playing, eating our favourite fruit(mangoes).
